The IoT refers to the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, <br \/>and other items embedded with sensors, software, and connectivity which enable <br \/>them to connect and exchange data. Sustainability, on the other hand, is the ability to <br \/>meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future <br \/>generations to meet their own needs. In this context, the IoT can play a crucial role in <br \/>promoting sustainable practices and addressing global challenges such as climate <br \/>change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation on &#8220;Sustainability and IoT\u2013 Part 2&#8221; covers several aspects of the <br \/>Internet of Things (IoT) and its contribution to achieving Sustainable Development <br \/>Goals (SDGs). The first section highlights the role of IoT in achieving SDGs, while <br \/>the second section presents various examples of IoT technology applications, such as <br \/>smart city architecture, efficient IoT radio units, and IoT-based solutions for ambient <br \/>assisted living (AAL) domain.<\/p>\n<p>Other examples include monitoring and tracking systems for patients with medical <br \/>problems, RFID solutions for steel mills, integrated frameworks to track and monitor <br \/>shipped packages, and IoT and block chain technologies for smart logistics and food <br \/>traceability systems. The presentation also explores the potential of IoT in changing <br \/>aspects of artificial light and water management.<\/p>\n<p>IoT adoption in developing countries and the challenges associated with it are also <br \/>discussed.
