The 2nd Multiplier Event of the Smart-Edu4.0 Project was organized by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) on April 25th 2023. The project partners had the chance to present the results of the project to academics and industry partners and received valuable feedback from them regarding the state-of-the art programs in Manufacturing Mechatronics.
Upcoming Multiplier Event in NTUA
The second Multiplier Event of the project will be hosted by the National Technical University of Athens. It will take place in the Multimedia Room in the Central Library Building in the Zografou Campus on 25 April in the afternoon.
Project partners will present the produced results of the Smart-Edu4.0 and the BE and ME programmes that have been created within the project. They will also exchange opinions and share research interests with the participants who will be both from the academia and industry sector.

Multiplier Event UL
The first Smart-Edu4.0 Multiplier Event was held at the CONFIRM Smart Manufacturing Centre at Limerick on February 2023. The University of Limerick (UL) presented the Digital Mechatronics BE/ME programmes that were developed by the Science_Engineering UL in conjunction with @[email protected] and within the context of the Smart-Edu4.0 project! Project partners had also the chance to demonstrate project results and share their thoughts with industry representatives regarding the necessary skills and talents the workforce of the future factories should have.
Digital Mechatronics Industry Showcase Multiplier Event
Smart-Edu4.0 team will be attending an Industry Breakfast briefing as a Multiplier Event on Wednesday, February 8th at the CONFIRM Centre for Smart Manufacturing Research in Limerick. This breakfast session will include a summary on the [email protected] principles involved in co-designing the programme with industry input.

CONFIRM SMART4.0 Winter School for Industry 4.0 applications
CONFIRM SMART4.0 are running a Winter School at CONFIRM HQ in Limerick on Thursday 15th December
The aim of the CONFIRM SMART4.0 Winter School is to aid the development of interdisciplinary knowledge and capacity to apply research around Industry 4.0 to solve problems in a range of settings. It will also help to build knowledge and understanding of multidisciplinary engagement aimed at finding novel solutions to real industry problems.
Smart-Edu4.0 Workshop during the ISSC conference
A workshop about Smart-Edu4.0 project occurred during the Irish Signals and Systems Conference (ISSC) in Cork on June 2022. All partners had the chance to present their work in the project as well as their work and research experience in relevant fields.
The ninth Smart-Edu4.0 hybrid meeting in Cork
The ninth meeting of the consortium of the Smart-Edu4.0 project was hybrid and was held in Cork on the 10th of June 2022. Partners had the opportunity to meet in person and discuss all arising matters of the project.
Mechatronic Engineering: Industrial Survey
Mechatronics is defined as the “Technology combining Electronics and Mechanical Engineering”.
Queen’s University Belfast is planning to launch a new Engineering programme related to Mechatronics and Robotics and therefore conducting a survey to understand the needs of your Industry, gauge interest in potential engagement activities, and gain insight on employability of graduates with a Mechatronics and Robotics degree.
Carrer Opportunity at Queen’s- Industry 4.0 Programme Development Officer
We are recruiting for a Programme Development Officer in Mechatronics with a focus on Industry 4.0 related technologies to join our vibrant and multi-cultural team on a 21 month contract or until 31 August 2023 whichever is soonest.
This project aims to create “A Trans-National Smart Manufacturing Education Hub (Smart-Edu4.0)” comprising UK and European institutions focusing on advancing Industry 4.0 educational activities at all institutions involved in the programme. You will be responsible for designing industry-attuned and accredited undergraduate, postgraduate and continuous professional development (CPD) curricula in Mechatronics incorporating Industry 4.0 related technologies. Additionally, you will participate in the development of bespoke CPD leadership programmes to support Industry 4.0 champions within companies.

The Smart-Edu4.0 consortium has made publicly available the Market Research Report for Industry 4.0 Related Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Training Programmes. The report is available here.
